Job Title:  Draftsman Job

Role Purpose

The purpose of  a draftsman’ role is  creating and controls all drawings and specifications for construction based on equations, calculations and written instructions provided by designers and engineers for use during the construction process at job site. Prepare sketches and shop drawings for fabrication, for mechanical and for piping modification including civil, structural, and electrical, instrument and communication lay out section elevation as per actual measurement.

Description

Drawing Preparation

1. Prepares and revises engineering drawings, shop drawings, details, sections, charts and similar documents as directed.
2. Utilizing both manual drawing skills as wells as compute based application, such as automated computer assisted drafting, the draftsman creates both two‐dimensional and three dimensional renderings of the finished project
3. Make simple but professional computation through the use of tables, charts, etc

Drawing Evaluation

1. Once drafts have been completed, they are presented to the architect or engineer for review.
2. Following a discussion of any alterations that need to occur, the draftsman makes changes to the renderings.

BOM Preparation

1. Prepares bill of materials and cost estimates of simple structure.

Technical Support

1. Providing all technical support related to drawings  revisions and modifications.
2. Explain drawings to production teams and provide adjustments as necessary.

Necessary Knowledge and Experience

2 – 3 years of experience in related field.
